Barton Big Lunch to celebrate volunteers this weekend

The Barton Big Lunch will be held on Sunday, June 8, in conjunction with the nationwide Big Lunch event.

It will also fall at the end of Volunteer’s Week, which is running from June 2 to 8.

The festivities will take place from midday to 3pm outside the sports hall along Fettiplace Recreation Ground.

Entertainment will include face painting, music, outdoor games, rounders, and presentations.

A spokesperson for Barton Community Association, which is organising the event, said: “Bring your own picnic and join us for a fun afternoon.”

Volunteers from the community association will be recognised at around 12.15pm.

The Big Lunch is an annual UK-wide event that sees people come together to share food, friendship, and fun with their neighbours and community.
